Sarah Davey
Sarah is committed to assisting children, young people and adults in understanding their internal world and making changes in their lives for the better. Sarah works in a warm, compassionate and down to earth way that highlights strengths. She values the importance of a trusting therapeutic relationship to foster understanding and change.
​
Sarah has over 25 years experience working with children, adolescents, parents and families and provides assessment and therapy for a range of emotional health difficulties including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, anger, postnatal stress and depression, trauma, attachment difficulties, emotional regulation difficulties and parenting support. Sarah has experience working with neurodiversity and gender identity issues.

Sarah completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology (Hons)and some years later a postgraduate Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at Murdoch University and since then has trained in a range of therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents and adults. This includes Cognitive Behavioural therapy, Circle of Security, Attachment and Positive Parenting models, EMDR and Imagery Rescripting and Trauma Informed models, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Psychoanalytic, Mindfulness, Systemic Family Therapy and Mentalization Based Therapy. Sarah has been supervised using a Psychoanalytic frame since 2005 and completed formal Infant Observation training in 2017/18.

Sarah's Doctoral research and thesis involved comparing group, individual and partner included treatments for Post Natal Depression.
​
Sarah worked in metropolitan and regional areas of Western Australia in both Government and Non-government agencies, including agencies that specialize in complex mental health issues, trauma and addictions. These include the WA Health Department, Child and Adolescent and Adult Community Mental Health Services and Department of Communities. She has worked with individuals, parents, families, facilitated groups and both coordinated and participated as a therapist in Family Therapy teams.

Sarah is an accredited AHPRA supervisor and has 20 years experience supervising clinical psychology students on placement and both Clinical Psychology Registrars and Clinical Psychologists. Sarah is a fully registered member of the Australian Psychological Society.
