Angela Mitsopoulos

Angela is a dual-endorsed Clinical and Counselling Psychologist with over a decade of experience supporting adolescents through to older adults. She works with individuals experiencing suicidal ideation, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, interpersonal challenges, and low self-esteem.

Her therapeutic style is respectful, curious and person-centred. Angela values creating a safe, collaborative space where clients can build trust at their own pace. She views each person as the expert in their own life and works alongside them to explore meaningful concerns, deepen insight, and strengthen existing capacities for change.

Angela integrates a range of evidence-based therapies including Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialect Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Interpersonal Therapy and existential approaches. In couples work, she draws on Terry Real's Relational Life Therapy and the Gottman Method to help partners rebuild connection, develop healthier patterns of relating, or navigate respectful separation where needed.

She is also a Board Approved Supervisor with extensive experience supporting interns across the 4+2 and 5+1 pathways, Psychology Masters students on placement, and Clinical and Counselling Registrar programs.

Angela adapts her supervisory style to meet the needs of each supervisee - offering reflective, collaborative guidance or a more structured, skills-focused approach where appropriate. She has particular strengths in ethics, and in working with transference and countertransference.
